Columbine is a small community located in Jefferson County, Colorado. The area is perhaps best known for the tragic events that occurred at Columbine High School on April 20, 1999, when two students, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, carried out a mass shooting at the school. This event shocked the nation and put Columbine in the spotlight, not for its natural beauty or peaceful atmosphere, but for the tragic loss of life and the lasting impact it had on the community.
